Hunting with dad was an adventure — but never the same one twice
It’s a cold December dusk somewhere near Cottondale and my father has dragged me out to a pond to shoot ducks. It’s the mid-1970s and Gore-Tex has not yet been invented, so I’m under-dressed in flimsy flannel and jeans. I am a thin-skinned Florida native and pretty sure that my eyelashes have a Dr. Zhivago-style case of frostbite.
