In A Terrific Wizard Of Oz Costume You Too Can Follow The Yellow Brick Road
For over 70 years the Wizard of Oz movie has been captivating young and old alike and will likely carry on doing so for many more generations. The iconic song Over The Rainbow sung by Dorothy in the film gives us a strong and positive message. When life is like a hopeless jumble, there’s always light at the end of the rainbow. Who doesn’t think of Judy Garland when they hear this song. It may have been sung by many others but it is for ever linked with Judy.
In order to keep alive the dream of following the Yellow Brick Road to somewhere over the rainbow then dressing in a Dorothy costume or as one of the other great characters that appear in the movie is ideal. Dorothy Gale is the main character and she is twelve years old. She’s an orphan and lives with her aunt and uncle. They live on a farm in Kansas. She has pig tails tied up with blue bows and dark brown hair. She wears the same clothes throughout the whole movie. She has a checked gingham dress in blue and white. Actually, there is one change to her costume: she is given a pair of magical ruby slippers by the Good Witch of the North. These will protect her against the Wicked Witch of the West. There are so many other great characters in the Wizard of Oz film that would be wonderful as fancy dress outfits. There are Dorothy’s companions on her journey down the Yellow Brick Road, the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow. Why not get a group of your friends together and go your next event as a group in the main Wizard of Oz character costumes? The good and evil witches are also great characters to dress up as. You can choose the Good Witches or the Evil Witches. Also don’t forget the flying monkeys, who are under the control of the Wicked Witch.
