if you have dust-mite allergies, what type of pillow, quilt, sheets should you use?
what should they be made of?
I am highly allergic to dust mites and at present time due to renting we cannot remove the rugs. I use an inexpensive dust mite cover for my box spring, and a much better cover for my mattress. I also cover all the pillows. I wash all my bedding once a week and oddly, don’t know if this has happened to anyone else but I seem more stuffed when using flannel sheets. The minute I change to cotton I’m much better. I also use a hepa filter while I sleep. You need to be careful with the Tannic acid, if your carpets are white/beige the acid could stain. I would test an inconspicuous spot first, you wouldn’t want to ruin the whole rug. The powder that you work into carpets is a hefty chore! I didn’t see the acid or powder do me any good. I also change my air conditioning filter the minute I see it amassing dust, it that’s every 2 weeks so much the better for me to breathe.
Another note, make sure if you’re using the vacuum cleaner in the bedroom, do not do it right before bedtime since you are stirring those little buggers about. Since I have the hepa cleaner, as soon as I am vacuuming I’ll run the machine during and for about an hour after.
