What is the best way to Learn a Monologue By heart and where Can I get some easy ones.?
I have an audition for a drama school and I need to learn a Monologue.
They have sent me some but I need an easy one.
Also How Am I meant to say it out, Like how to I read it.
Must I sound like I am Acting it.
you have to sound like you are actually saying it to someone, or that what you are saying is actually what you are thinking, but since the audience can’t read your mind they are ‘hearing’ your thoughts
both are tricky, if you choose to act as if you are speaking to an individual, then you will need to act as if that person was there, and direct your words accordingly… (you wouldn’t talk to their feet, for example)
if you choose to be voicing your thoughts, the audience becomes like a mirror that you are looking into
how to learn the fastest depends on how you learn anything fast, if you learn by hearing, then tape record it and listen to it constantly
if you learn by reading, then read it and repeat the lines until you can say it without looking
if you learn by touching things, then write down the words, over and over, until you can repeat them without looking
the best way is to do all three of them
