The Secrets of Repairing The XBox 360 3 Red Lights Problem
Xbox 360 owners are lucky in that they have a wide selection of both high quality, realistic games and an overall superior gaming platform. One of the reasons for the tremendous success of the xbox 360 is the game developers have lined up to support the unit with a steady supply of great new games.
However, as any serious XBox gamer will tell you, there are problems with the X360 unit. Since the release of the initial model of the X360, the gaming unit has been plagued by what has become commonly known as the Xbox 360 3 Red Lights problem.
When the game you’re playing freezes and you see 3 flashing red lights on the front of your xbox console, you know you’ve been struck by this problem.
This means that there has been a hardware failure inside the xbox, usually caused by excessive heat build-up. When you see the 3 red flashing red lights it means that the GPU has overheated to the point where some of the internal components have been damaged, perhaps permanently. If you let you xbox cool down for an hour or so then power it back up and you still have 3 flashing red lights, you’ll know the damage is probably permanent. If you turn the XBox off for an hour or so, then power it back up and still see the 3 flashing red lights, you are probably going to have to either send you XBox 360 out for repair or go the Do-It-Yourself route.
Many people who have considered themselves “mechanically challenged” have successfully repaired the xbox 360 3 red lights problem themselves. If you don’t mind popping open your xbox, there are several repair guides available that you can download and that take you step-by-step through the repair process. The huge advantage of going the do it yourself route for the Xbox 360 3 Red Lights problem is that you can be back up and playing your favorite game in about an hour or so.
