the best sewing machines?
hi,
im getting a sewing machine for my birthday its my first one but i have sewn before. Im looking at a singer quilt tradition 7422QT and i get a free dvd player and extension table $500, also im looking at a Janome JP760 $500 and a Janome MS5027 LE $400.
i like them all and they sound good and have good features but im not sure which one to buy?
any opinions
While I’m not a user of sewing machines I know allot about basic value and performance of machines and have bought a few machines for my wife.
When considering a machine like a sewing machine, a major consideration would be the quality of the components that make up the machine itself like the motor and the mechanics that operate the sewing mechanism. Manufactures that add extras like DVD’s and tables have to take from the expense of the device itself to pay for these extras. You will also find three basic divisions of such machines. Entry level consumer, high end consumer and professional. The difference between entry level and high end consumer will be bells and whistles such as controls and options. Professional will have a heavier motor and drive system. Professional devices will last must longer and perform tasks much easier.
For those reasons I’d prompt you to consider a used professional machine. I bought one from a local dealer that was used in a trade school then traded in. It’s manufactured by Viking. I paid about the same as a high end consumer machine but received professional quality, My wife has been using that machine for over 10 years now including recently for a wedding preparation. It still works perfectly. Be sure to get a warranty supported by the seller.
So check with your local deal fro a used professional trade in machine. After all your new machine would be used as soon as you start your first project.

There was a musical titled JP Morgan Saves the Nation with lyrics by Jeffrey M. Jones and music by Larson. And there was Tick, Tick… Boom!, an autobiographical piece that Larson workshopped for a while before setting it aside and finishing Rent. I… |

How to Make an American Quilt [VHS] $3.45 Based on the bestseller by Whitney Otto, this film seemed to miss all the poetry and the ephemeral charms of the wispy novel by trying to make a concrete movie out of it. Directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse (who made a similar hash out of A Thousand Acres), the film centers on Winona Ryder, who is debating her impending marriage and decides to make up her mind while spending the summer with her grandmo… |
