how to clean baby’s tongue??
my son is about 8 wks…and the top of his tongue is WHITE! I’m sure its probably from the milk…
My mother told me to use a warm cloth and just kinda rub at it and it should come off…or a tongue brush or whatnot…
But my question is….do i have to? is this going to cause any problems if i don’t? I’m asking this because everytime I get near his mouth with it, he clamps his mouth shuts. haha. I got it in once and he just started crying hysterically. ..I think he realizes now that its not my breast going in his mouth. whatta brat already!

If it’s thrush, leave it alone. Your doctor can verify, and he’ll give your baby some medicine, I think it’s called nystatin? If the doc verifies it’s just milk build-up, then just get a baby gum cleaner. They look like thimbles, and they are made from soft silicone, and have soft bristles on them. Just gently clean his tongue with that three times a day or so. But wait till the doctor tells you exactly what’s causing it.
