Question about architect measurement?
Our class is drawing a cabin on A4 Paper. The area= 1200 square feet, and I chose 30 square feet and 40 square feet for length. Apparently I have to use the 1/8 ruler (on architecture ruler) and draw them on our A4 paper. But I do not know how because I’m not used to the ruler at all… how can i fit all these measurement on my small paper? (We are drawing on a bit larger paper later on). Please Help Me = ( Thank You
If you look at your ruler every 1/8″ (there are 8 of them between each inch)is equal to 1 ft so divide 30 by 8 to give you 3.75″ or 3 and 6/8 th or 30×1/8 and the 40 ft is 40/8 or 5″ or 40×1/8 so when you draw it on the paper make the 30′ side 3.75″(3 and 6/8) and the 40′ side 5″ long(40/8) and you’re done.
