
Batik Arts: A World Heritage from Indonesia
Many people have been trying to learn how to batik for time spending, fun and surely to become professional batik artists as the art has been known all over the world. Batik arts come in many forms with various designs. The beauty of the arts can be seen in batik clothing, paintings or even batik wooden masks as for nowadays batik also created on papers for various crafts.
Batik is originated from Indonesia, a country that has thousand of islands. The island of Java is the area where batik has reached the greatest peak of accomplishment, yet people often see the beauty of Bali Batik in many places all of over the world as well. The combination of multi religions, unique cultures and historical backgrounds that are live amongst people of Indonesia has been delivering references for beautiful batik patterns and designs that rarely seen in other part of the world. In Java and Bali temple ruins contain figures whose garments are patterned in a manner suggestive of batik.
In many area within Indonesia the kids and youth learn how to batik fabric from their elder as the skill has been handed down in the family within generations for many years. Batik process takes times, patience and commitment because the process has been done only by hand with simple tools. The coloring phase itself is one of a kind as Indonesian use mixture of natural substances such as various herbs and spices; natural substance is believed to bring more brightness and shiny colors onto batik fabrics aside of their ability to preserve the quality over long period of time.
Batik arts have been admired by Indonesian and many foreigners because of the delicate artistic designs and distinguish of the making process; some are more expensive than others depend on the type of fabric, patterns and the level of skill attained by the batik artist. There are also printed batiks created to enrich the originality of batik which takes shorter period of time producing them. Either for traditional batik or modern batik, many Indonesian now learn how to batik fabric properly as their way to preserve a world heritage.
